We developed a brand strategy for Local Provisions, a new-to-market grocery delivery company based in Virginia Beach. 

Local Provisions is reimagining the traditional grocery store model—and disrupting the food system as we know it. By creating convenient, accessible pathways for individuals to reduce their carbon footprint, support local farmers, and connect over shared values, Local Provisions is building a new ecosystem for sustainable living. 

We collaborated closely with founder, Eric Brown, on his vision for Local Provisions and developed an energetic, mission-driven foundation for long-term success and growth.

Today’s food system is unsustainable. From toxic levels of CO2 in the atmosphere to excessive levels of human consumption and waste, food accounts for 10–30% of a household’s carbon footprint. 

And yet: Most Americans have very few options. The average grocery store is filled with single-use plastics, which play an enormous role in CO2, and products pumped with pesticides, herbicides, and other toxins. Plus, an ongoing rise in greenwashing across categories is prompting consumers to distrust brands, particularly in the health and wellness space. 

Outside of the intrinsic challenges of the food system and the traditional grocery store model, many consumers are not satisfied with their current options. The COVID-19 pandemic opened new doors to a grocery model centered on digital shopping and doorstep delivery. And consumers today still want an easier, more accessible, and more intentional shopping and delivery experience.

With our model, your groceries are delivered straight to your door with electronic vehicles—without any single-use plastic packaging. Instead, our refillable, reusable containers make a tremendous impact in eliminating daily waste after a grocery store run.
